Staff were very friendly and efficient, good facilities and good breakfast.
Room very modern and newly decorated. Indoor pool area very spacious.Excellent location for New Forest and nearby walks.
Bar food service very slow and didn't match description on menu.
Charming country-house atmosphere in a lovely location in the heart of the New Forest. Our room was newly refurbished and had views over the cricket pitch and ponies even though we did not pay for 'forest view'. Lovely! Excellent dining and good location for walks in the forest or a stroll into the village of Brockenhurst with shops and plenty of choice of pubs/ restaurants. A short train ride away from Southampton for shopping. It was nice to relax in the pool and sauna at the end of the day - What more could you want?
All the staff were all very polite, and informative food was first class and we had a free upgrade, The breakfast was first class and it was a pleasure to be guests there and we will be booking again in the future
It was very relaxing and the staff were lovely
the views from the room over looking forest was fantastic
the nice feeling of luxery and comfortable relaxing atmosphere excellent
good service from staff and good leisure facilities
We upgraded from Standard Double Room to Luxury Room with fourposter bed. It was a huge gothic room with a massive fourposter bed, large chaise longue, 2 large armchairs, desk, large wall mounted TV, wardrobe, and large modern bathroom, with a view of the New Forest. It was very luxurious and comfortable. Bar and leisure facilities and full English breakfast were good.
Would have liked more bedding as duvet and extra blanket were insufficient at night. Swimming pool rather shallow.
The attentiveness of the staff who ensured that we had everything we wanted and were on hand at all times. Also the location of the hotel makes it very accessible when traveling through the New Forest.
the room and the furnishings were excellent and the four poster bed made the weekend
Food was good and the location admirable.
The main highlight of my stay here was the staff - very helpful and attentive. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I would recommend it based solely on that. The facilities were great and the hotel even opened up the outdoor pool again because of the warm weather. Good breakfast comfortable room.
The hotel is in a good location for exploring the New Forest. The food in the hotel is very good. The hotel staff were excellent. Although we didn't use the leisure facilities we did have a look and they seemed to be very good, and the indoor swimming pool looked excellent. Our room was a standard double, which had been refurbished about 2 years ago. The room was very good, with all of the things you would expect, and we were lucky enough to have a view overlooking the outside pool area (not neccessarily guaranteed with the standard double). The hotel has ample parking on site. All in all we would recommend the hotel.
If you don't want to eat in the hotel, it is a fairly long walk to the nearest pub, or a reasonable drive into the nearest town. Although the food in the hotel is very good, expect to pay at least £80 for a two course meal for two plus a bottle of wine in the restaurant, and about £50 if you choose the lounge menu. Bar prices also reflect the 4 star rating of the hotel. Our only grumble about the room was that the mattress was very, very hard and really needed to be replaced. Room rate is possibly a little on the high side if you are not going to use the leisure facilities.
Situated on edge of New Forest. Pleasant walks available from outside the front door. No need to use car.
Room was not up to expectations for 4* establishment.
